Chemistry Questions - Bonding
Here is another one for you to be exposed to:
Q) Which of the following compounds has the largest number of lone pairs of electrons on the central atom?
D.
ReplyDeleteif i'm not wrong, lone pair of electrons is the pair of electron that is not shared/bonded with other atoms. (in simple terms)
so, if we draw out the structure and examine the electrons,
A has no lone pair of electrons,
B only have one pair,
C do not have (cos C-0 is double bond),
and D has 2 pairs.
hence, D should be the answer.
Hi Lijun,
ReplyDeleteWell Done!
You are absolutely spot on!
Cheers
